Doing Business in Africa | |
|
WILMA has been active in four countries since early 2000: Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda. Staff from our main office in Washington, DC, travel frequently to Africa, where we have acquired a large network of African colleagues, contacts, and few staff members, and we continue to expand this network to other African countries. While founding and assisting both nonprofit organizations and commercial firms, we have learned to navigate the complex legal, cultural, and physical terrain that can thwart the efforts of newcomers to Africa, particularly those who want to do business. An important part of WILMA's work is providing assistance to organizations that partner with us. For commercial firms interested in Joint Venture Commercial Estates as locations for distributing, assembling, or producing items, WILMA offers a variety of advisory and technical services both during the initial inquiry and negotiation phases and after a joint venture agreement has been established. As a network of experienced volunteers that cooperates with nonprofit organizations such as Engineers Without Borders and various church-related groups, WILMA offers such services at cost, and we strive to ensure that both Africans and foreign investors fully understand the benefits and requirements of any agreement and are treated fairly at all times. |
